Mortlake Nursery

Working Mums Daycare & Pre-School Centre in Mortlake opened in 1992, we are a 54 place setting in a single storey converted Edwardian old school building, spoilt by our direct access to the outdoors for all age groups, making the outdoors a big feature of our nursery.
We have separate groups for under two year olds and over two year olds and also a preschool area for our children to take time out for some specific preschool activities and learning in their final year of nursery, to prepare them for the transition to school.
Our nursery also runs Forest School sessions for our pre-schoolers, where they take excursion to Wimbledon common and head to the woods to explore the outdoors, waterways and tree climbing too in a natural forest learning environment.
We are open 51 weeks of the year from 8am till 6pm with the additional option of breakfast club from 7.30am and evening club from 6 till 6.30pm

  • Jenny
      JennyNursery Manager- Mortlake
Jenny joined Working Mums’ in 1992 when the Mortlake setting opened and Working Mums Daycare & Preschool was established. She started off as cover staff after she left school, loved it and realised it was what she wanted to make a career out of. She progressively developed, becoming NVQ3 qualified in early childhood care and education, working with all ages of children and through leadership roles until she became Manager in 2014. Jenny introduced Forest School to Working Mums, being one of the first through the BTec Diploma in Forest School teaching, new to the UK at the time. Jenny has been instrumental in the development of Preschool sessions for children in the year before they go to school, receiving annual feedback from parents and reception teachers on the skills her leavers are taking to their reception classes.

I have a B.Sc. Psychology and NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education.
      • Michelle
          MichelleRegional Manager
Early childhood education and care has always been very important to me and a job I love. This grew even more when I had my own two children. There is nothing like having two children of your own go through child care settings to really put into focus the incredible responsibility and importance of our roles. My love of early years and parenting is what drives me to ensure we are delivering quality to the children in our settings. I commenced the role of Regional Manager for Childcare & Learning Group in August 2018, having previously been the Area Manager since January 2016, after many years working as Manager at Castle Nursery & Preschool in Guildford at our Markenfield setting. During my time as manager, I completed my B.Ed. in Early Years and then went on to complete my Masters in Early Years. For the Working Mums’ group of nurseries, I am the Regional Manager directly responsible for our Mortlake and East Sheen settings.

Working Mums Daycare & Pre-School offers a very high standard of care, experienced and qualified staff.
